Water & Flood Damage – Mitigation & Restoration

Water Damage - Sink Overflow No one can predict a sewage overflow or when a pipe will burst, or know the path a storm or flood will take. We’ve all seen or experienced the devastation that a natural or man-made disaster involving flood or water can cause. Aside from the physical damage, the emotional stress can be overwhelming.

Our goal is to get people back in their homes or businesses as quickly as possible and restore contents and structure to original pre-loss condition wherever possible.

We have trained technicians who follow IICRC S-500 protocols, and use equipment and technology to avoid secondary damage (which can include mould growth) thereby minimising costs and protecting against potential health risks.

Our aim is to control the environment quickly to help minimise further damage, and restore premises to pre-loss condition as quickly as possible.

Steps to Water Damage Recovery

  • STEP 1 – Inspection and Assessment: We inspect Commercial Water Damagethe damage, prepare a cost estimate (where possible) and develop a restoration plan. We can begin work immediately upon plan acceptance, and after obtaining any necessary authority (where applicable).
      • STEP 2 – Water Removal: We extract any standing water immediately. This is a critical step in the restoration process as quick action following water intrusion can help prevent further secondary damage and mould growth.
      • STEP 3 – Stabilise the Environment: Dehumidifiers are installed to control moisture levels in both the structure and contents. Dehumidifiers pull moisture from the air and return warm, dry air. The process is assisted by high velocity air movers to evaporate moisture
      • STEP 4 – Monitor Drying Process: We regularly monitor the drying process with various moisture meters for wood, concrete, floors and walls. Temperature and humidity measurements are taken throughout the drying process to ensure the premises is returned to pre-loss moisture levels.
    • STEP 5 – Relay/Replace Flooring: Carpets and flooring can be relayed or replaced once the structure is clean and dry.

Restoration Process

          • STEP 1 – Scope of Works: After assessing the damage, we prepare a scope of works in relation to any further restoration works necessary to return the premises to pre-loss condition, including a cost estimate. Wherever possible and economical, contents and structure are restored rather than replaced or discarded. Once the scope is approved by the client (and insurance company where applicable), we begin this work.
          • STEP 2 – Liase with Client / Insurer: We work with the insurance / agent / adjuster throughout the restoration project, or directly with the client if a non-insurance claim.
        • STEP 3 – Final Inspection:  Once the work is completed, we conduct a final walk-through to confirm that all work has been completed to the client’s satisfaction, upon which our final report is prepared.
